Had a farewell dinner for Lenco with the rest of the team on Tuesday evening at Modesto, Vivo City. Guess the near 2-year stint as a Public Servant is enough for him. After all, it isn't easy to be one especially when one is not a, ahem, scholar.
Someone did comment to me that it is very much a case of opportunities given first to scholars to prove their worth (of monies spent on them) than of elitism instead of meritocracy, and that farmers are just as capable as scholars if not better. I second this analysis. Then again, it would seem to be a variant of elitism.
Ah well, Lenco will be out of the PS scene for quite a while if not forever. Wish him all the best in his future endeavours and sorry for my contributions to his agony and frustrations at work - me being the strict-and-no-nonsense (at work) senior.
